SPARC Recycling


SPARC's Recycling Center processes approximately 700 tons per month of cardboard, office paper, newspaper, magazines and plastic materials.

SPARC will recycle the following materials:

  • Aluminum
  • Cardboard
  • Magazines, Junk Mail, Newspapers
  • Office paper
  • Paperback books
  • Plastic bottles
  • Plastic tubs
  • Telephone Books

SPARC Enterprises works cooperatively with Grants Pass Sanitation and Southern Oregon Sanitation to provide a comprehensive recycling service to Josephine County households and businesses. The sanitation companies pick up cardboard and bring it to SPARC for processing and shipping to markets. In March of 2002, SPARC launched a new phase in recycling as it partnered with local sanitation companies to provide co-mingled recycling.  With co-mingling, the residential customer no longer has to separate recyclable materials as they have in the past as the separation of materials takes place at the Recycling Center.

 

RECYCLING EDUCATION

SPARC offers an array of recycling education programs ranging from classroom presentations, community displays, and booths at local fairs, public presentations, and the dissemination of educational materials.
